Since the late 1990's the vehicle wrap has been evolving, and matte my car is part of that natural evolution. In the beginning, advertising companies would hire printers to produce large graphics produced on giant stickers to cover the entire exterior of transit buses. These giant rolling billboards were an exciting way for companies to get their brand or message out on the streets in a new and exciting way. The ads were well received and it allowed for designers and installers to really fine tune the emerging craft known as the "vehicle wrap". Over time, buses became cabs, cabs became trucks, trucks became vans, vans became fleets, and awareness grew so eventually all sorts of "vehicles" were being wrapped from snowmobiles to boats, and helicopters to pedicabs. With the rapid growth of the industry came the emerging talents of the men and women applying the material, vehiclewrappers have really pushed the industry to where we are now. There is even a global network of competitions that test the abilities of the installers at car and print tradeshows with very impressive talents displayed.
Recognizing that this is more than just a fad, the manufacturers of the material used, have started to develop vinyls that are pre-colored so there is no longer a need for ink. With these pre-colored materials a vehiclewrapper can now cover the entire car, essentially changing the color of it. What is really happening though is the vehiclewrapper is just covering the original paint (OEM) with material. This serves two great purposes, the material protects the original paint job (adding resale value) and changes the color to suit your needs, taste, and originality. Now the subtle wear and tear of the paint on your car is left with an extra layer of protection from lifes great annoyances (shopping carts at the grocery store, etc) AND the finish is truly yours.
So why the focus on mattes? Well, we just happen to think that this style is very exciting and offers one of the most jaw dropping ways to avoid blending in. By no means are we exclusive to matte wraps, but we happen to have a soft spot in our hearts for it so we have decided to focus our attention on them (and yours apparently). So if its not a matte finish you are looking for, not a problem we have over 100 different colors to choose from. From mattes to shines, to multiple colors there is a flavor for everyone.
